Tackling a problem costing billions of USD every year
Noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus are the most prevalent military service associated disabilities, which affect quality of life and cause a significant economic burden.
Statistics show that the problems cost billions of USD every year.
Eliminating hearing loss for tens of thousands of US soldiers
In response to the prevalence and rising costs of military hearing loss and auditory injuries, the US Army invested in INVISIO’s system within the framework of its Tactical Communications and Protective System (TCAPS) modernization program in 2013.
The INVISIO system was first introduced in 2014 and has since been deployed to over tens of thousands of soldiers throughout the U.S. The soldiers train with the system along with unit system integrators from PM Soldier-Soldier Electronics on the Tactical Communications and Protective System.
The long-term goal is to provide the systems for soldiers once they start boot camp to prevent damage and eliminate hearing loss altogether.
